William Gordon Josey Jr.

Mr. William G. Josey Jr., age 66, of Riddleville, died Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 25th at 2:00 p.m. at the Riddleville Baptist Church with burial in the Tanner Family Cemetery located on Tanner Road. Reverends Daniel Porter and Wade Dawson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Billy Brown, Tim Franklin, Wesley Price, Russell Strickland, Garvis Youngblood and Craig Walker.

William was a native and lifelong resident of
Washington County. He was a 41 year veteran of the Washington County Kaolin Industry beginning work with A.I.C.C. and retiring from Imerys. He was the current owner and operator of Double J. Sporting Clays where he spent countless hours teaching youth how to properly and safely shoot firearms. William competed nationally in Sporting Clay Competitions and several times represented the State of Georgia on its official State Team. He was a member of the Riddleville Baptist Church and he is predeceased by two brothers, Wyman Josey and Jeffery Neil Josey.

Survivors include; his wife Carol Harrison Josey of Riddleville, children, Jennifer Josey of North Myrtle Beach SC., Amy Josey Rarick and her husband Todd of Clear Water FL., and William H. Josey and his wife Pam of Tennille, grandchildren, Clay McDaniel, Cassie McDaniel, Matthew Grant and Ava Josey, his parents, William G. Sr. and Frances McNeely Josey of Riddleville and his sister, Charlotte J. Hitchcock and her husband Ben of Tennille.

The family will be at the home of William Sr. and Frances Josey on Hwy. 231 in Riddleville and they will receive friends on Tuesday from
5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
