Wesley Irvin Josey   17 Oct 1944 – 28 Feb 2011

 

Wesley Irvin Josey, 66, passed away Monday, February 28, 2011 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

He was born on
October 17, 1944 in Corning, California to James and Georgia Josey. The family settled in Naches, Washington in 1957.

Wes graduated from
Naches High School with the class of 1963. He was a loyal and dependable friend who you could always count on to lend a helping hand. He maintained a special lifelong relationship with his two best friends from high school, Darrell Montgomery and Larry Buchanan.

Wes married Lavonne Howell on
March 5, 1966 and they had two children, Lonni & Dean. He was a loving father who enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He could always be found cheering them on at their many sporting events.

Wes worked at Layman Lumber Mill in Naches for 35 years. He was a charter member of the Vintiques Car Club and enjoyed his 1939 Chevy, old cars in general and his friends in the club. Growing up, Lonni and Dean could always be found tagging along with Wes at the many car club events he attended.

Wes was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by Lavonne; daughter, Lonni (Perry Brown), Lonni's daughters Domino, Saysha (R.J. Johnson), Quianna , and Lonni's grandsons Tracen and Jackson; son, Dean (Tanya) and daughters, Madison and Jadyn. He is also survived by his sister Schada Coleman (
Wayne) of Missouri and his brother Wilburn Shook of Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Shelter of Central Washington (Spay and Neuter Fund), in care of Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at
West Hills Memorial Park on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 2:00. Keith and Keith Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements
