Versie Ann Josey, 68, of Wade, Miss., passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2008, in Pascagoula, Miss., after a lengthy illness. Versie was born July 25. 1939, in Jackson County and resided in Wade, Miss.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Choyce Holland, and her grandparents, Will and Ellen Holland and Steve and Florence Cumbest.

Survivors include her children, Gayle (Tom) McKee and Paul (Myrna) Baricer. She is also survived by her sister, Paula (Wayne) Goff, and six grandchildren, Shelby Howarth, Anthony and David Baricer, Kalli, Kasey and Karianne McKee; and one great-granddaughter, Karlee McKee. She also leaves many nephews, nieces and friends who loved her dearly.

Versie was a member of Caswell Springs United Methodist Church, where in the past years she served in the capacity of communion steward, member of the sanctuary choir, and she especially enjoyed being a staff member at Caswell Springs UMC Child Center. She retired from Jackson County after 24 years of service, serving in the capacity as community center director.

The family would like to express thanks and appreciation to everyone who showed their love and support through her illness, especially the staff of MICU at Singing River Hospital and the doctors and nurses on 1 North East.

Visitation for Mrs. Josey will be today, Thursday, April 17, 2008, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, and from 10 until 11 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2008, at Caswell Springs United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2008, at Caswell Springs United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Roger Puhr, the Rev. H.W. Parker and the Rev. Henderson Rasberry officiating.

Burial will follow in the Caswell Springs Cemetery.
