Iona Cobb

Iona Cobb, 95, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, after an extended illness. She was a resident of Foley.

She moved to Foley in 1942 and was the wife of the town's first police chief, the late B.D. Cobb.

Cobb was a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, a longtime Mother Advisor in The Order of the Rainbow Girls and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Installation Team.

She was a 60-year member of First Baptist Church of Foley.

Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Faison and JaNay Dawson, both of Foley; a son, John T. Cobb of Magnolia Springs; eight grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services and burial will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Pine Rest Memorial Park in Foley.

A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at Pine Rest Funeral Home.

Arrangements are by Pine Rest Funeral Home of Foley.
