Roland D. Josey passed away Tuesday, May 20, at the age of 67.
R.D. is preceded in death by father, Willard Josey; mother, Essie Mae Josey; daughter, Melissa Ann Josey; brothers, Elmer Josey, Zelmer Josey and Max Josey; grandson, Jeff Blocker.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rozell Josey, of 37 years; son, Danny and Stephanie Josey of Crestview, Fla.; daughter, Marie and Brett House of Crestview; daughter, Gloria and Dave Conners of Indiana; daughter, Bobbie Fuller of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; son, Phillip and Lori Bozeman of Indiana; brother, Ray and Tommie Josey of Alaska; brother, Glen and Elaine Josey of Alaska; sister, Gwen and Walt Bolieu of Washington; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
R.D. was born in Red Level, Ala., on Aug. 19, 1946. He attended Laurel Hill High School. He worked at Bayou Mechanical as a Field Superintendent for 40 years prior to retiring in 2011.
R.D. enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, fishing and whatever Mom asked him to do.
Funeral services will be at Central Baptist Church, Friday, May 23, at 2 p.m., with Pastors Paul Mixon and Brett House. The burial will follow in Live Oak Park Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 22, from 6 until 8 p.m., also at Central Baptist Church.
