Helen Williams, 92, of Big Stone Gap, passed away early Tuesday morning (March 28, 2006) at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Big Stone Gap.

Mrs. Williams was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap and was a member of the First Christian Church of where she taught Sunday school for both the beginners and the teen-agers classes.

She was a Licensed Practical Nurse, and a member of Circle # 2 (The Ida Driver Circle), and a past den mother for Cub Scouts.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall L. Williams Sr.; parents, Charles and Elizabeth Beaman; seven brothers; and one sister.

Surviving are two daughters, Tommie Doris Weatherly and husband, Richard of Big Stone Gap, Marcella K. Cawood and husband, Jack of Tampa, Fla.; one son, Marshall Lewis Williams Jr. and wife, Jane of Dearing, Ga.; four grandchildren, Pamela Ashbrook and husband, Michael of Oxford, N.C., Sharon Marie Collier of Dearing, Elizabeth Weatherly of Big Stone Gap, Marshall L. Williams III and wife, Cheri of Evans Ga.; one great-granddaughter, Allison Marie Collier of Dearing; one sister, Peggy Beaman Josey of Kannapolis, N.C.; four sisters-in-law, Peggy Beaman, Ruth Beaman, Jennie Beaman, and Naomi Beaman; honorary son, Donnie Hensley of Bloomington, Ind.; and a host of several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family received friends from
6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 30, at First Christian Church in Big Stone Gap. Services followed at 8 p.m. Thursday at the church with Minister Greg Townsend officiating.

Graveside services were conducted at
11 a.m. Friday at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Jack Cawood, Richard Weatherly, Michael Ashbrook, Mike Williams, Mandal Mack.
