Pansy Louise Josey Miller, 88, of
Statesville, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016 at the Gardens of Statesville. She was born in Iredell County on February 24, 1928 to the late Samuel Bascum Josey and Juanita Barnhardt Josey.

Mrs. Miller attended Iredell County Schools and received her GED from
Mitchell College. On October 22, 1949, she married Carrol J. Miller, who preceded her in death on October 2, 1997. They shared almost 48 years of marriage before his passing. She was retired from Beauty Maid Mills where she worked in production control and was a member of Bright Light Baptist Church.

Along with her parents and husband, Carrol, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Esther Shepherd; a brother, Joe Josey; a half-brother, Clayton Dyson; two brothers-in-laws and their wives, Paul Miller (Helen) and Lee Miller (Hazel); and three sister-in-laws and their husbands, Eusebia Money (Coy), Thelma Weatherman (Woodrow), and Pansy Summers (Bob).

Left to cherish her memory are a son, Rev. Ricky C. Miller (Paula) of Jefferson, NC; a daughter, Julie M. Bowman (Keith) of Statesville; grandchildren, Joshua Miller (Amy), Stephen Miller, Jeremy Miller, April Miller (fiancé Curtis Hartzog), Jon Bowman (Erin), and Emily Bowman (Danny Fisher); and one great grandson, Joey Miller. She is further survived by two sisters, Sally Rankin and Evelyn Jolly; and a sister-in-law, Jane Bartles (Buddy).

Funeral services for Mrs. Miller will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Bright Light Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Miller and Rev. Keith Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the church from 12:30 until 1:30 prior to the service.
