Millard Fillmore Comer 14 Oct 1919 – 30 Sep 2002

Millard Fillmore Comer, 82, of Harrisburg, died 1:55 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at the Saline Care Center in Harrisburg.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002, at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg with the Rev. Mike Davis officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, at the funeral home.

He was born Oct. 14, 1919 in Cairo to Lloyd and Dora Belle (Sullivan) Comer. On Oct. 19, 1956, he married the former Barbara Josey, who survives.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Harrisburg. He served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam with the Merchant Marines.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jane (Jim) Rodgers of Harrisburg; a brother, Paul Comer of Warrick, R.I.; a sister-in-law, Frances Comer of Wyoming, R.I.; two sisters, Nokomis Coulter of Vero Beach, Fla. and Annie MacAnally of Cahokia and two grandchildren, Eli and Hannah Rodgers, both of Harrisburg.
