NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. - Maytanzie Jones Josey, 85, of New Smyrna Beach died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at her home.

A native of St. Augustine, she lived in New Smyrna Beach for eight years. She moved there from Tampa.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church, New Smyrna Beach, and a former member of Union Missionary Baptist Church, Jensen Beach.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Richard Josey of New Smyrna Beach; a son, Paul Hammond of Augusta, Ga.; two daughters, Annie Mae Hodrick of Los Angeles and Ruth Hammond of Baltimore; a brother, Walter Warthaw of Sheldon, S.C.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at Union Missionary Baptist Church, Jensen Beach. A service will be at 1 p.m.

Burial will be in Washington Memorial Cemetery, Jensen Beach.
