DANVILLE VA - Lillian Robertson Josey, 76, of 160 Applewood Drive, died Saturday, June 30, 2007, at Danville Regional Medical Center. She had been in declining health for several years.
Born
Oct. 8, 1930, in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late James Abraham Robertson and the late Mary Jane Eanes Robertson.
She was a member of
Holland Road Baptist Church. She had worked at Health-Tex, retiring after 38 years of service. She lived most of her life in Danville and Pittsylvania County.
She was married to Herman Oscar Josey Jr.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Herman Adkins and William L. Adkins, both of Danville; two daughters, Linda A. Davis of Ringgold and Martha Ann Keesee of Danville; a brother, James F. Robertson, of Sycamore; two sisters, Martha Lucy Edwards of Danville and Belle Forshee of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one step-grandchild.
She was predeceased by a son, Leonard Wayne Adkins; four brothers, three sisters, and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at
2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3, at Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Mayes officiating. Interment will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from
7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, July 2, at Swicegood Funeral Home, 564 West Main St.; at other times they will be at the residence, 160 Applewood Drive.
