Lena Antha Josey Martin, 86, of Winston-Salem passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

She was born
Sept. 11, 1915, in Iredell County to Elam M. and Doshia Ann Stewart Josey.

She was a member of the
Redland Pentecostal Holiness Church and was formerly a nurse at the Winston-Salem Rehabilitation Center and the Blumenthal Jewish Home.

Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mr. Letroy Burns Yontz, in 1955; three sisters, Laura Gautier, Marie Rising and Edna Wright; and three brothers, Arch, Albert and Ted Josey. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Claudia Brown (husband Bobby) of
Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Benny Brown (wife Donna) of Kernersville and Ken Brown (wife Judy) of Mocksville; a great-granddaughter, Tiffany Nicole Brown, and a sister-in-law, Josephine Weaver of Salisbury. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews who were very loving and caring to their aunt. A special thanks to the family for all their care that was given to her during her illness.

A funeral service will be held at
1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at the Redland Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Joel K. Boyles officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Redland Pentecostal Holiness Church, 137 Baltimore Road, Advance, NC 27006.
