Murphey - Judge Kenneth Bradley Bush, 84, passed away at his home on December 23, 2017. After a 4 year lengthy recovery from cancer, he was finally healed as he was called to his heavenly home.

Judge Bush was born November 13,1933, on a houseboat on the banks of the Sunflower River near Murphey, MS to William Fred Bush and Jessie Lee Bush.

After living in several locations during World War II, Clarksdale finally became his permanent home in 1949. He graduated from Clarksdale High School in 1953. Virginia Josey Bush became his bride in 1964.

Before he was elected as a judge, his career started as a notable newspaper photographer in 1957. For 42 years, he remained a full time photographer for the Clarksdale Press Register, as well as a part-time employee for the Delta Farm Press publication until his retirement in 1999. In 1968 he first ran and was elected to the Justice Court Judge position for Coahoma County, where he held that elected position for 44 years. He was proud of the fact that he was elected to this office, by a margin of at least 75% of the votes, for 11 terms. For his 44 years of public service to Coahoma County, he held the title of the most elected senior official in the state of Mississippi. He received a proclamation from the Mississippi State Senate as well as a resolution from the Coahoma County Board of Supervisors recognizing such, after his retirement in December 2015.

Because of his duties at the newspaper and at the justice court, he was away from his home and family most days and nights of the week, but he was so proud to work so much and so hard to be able to provide for his family. Being a provider was his calling. Not only did he provide for his wife, children & grandchildren, but he provided and worked tirelessly for the people of Coahoma County. During his entire Justice Court career, he was always willing & eager to help anyone, no matter how large or small the favor and at any hour. No matter the time of the day or night, he never turned down any phone call or door bell for help or advice because he didn't have "office hours".

Not only did most people know him as Judge, but he was easily recognized by the phrase "photo by Bush". During his photography career, he was responsible for thousands of submissions in the newspaper, as well as capturing personal photos at personal events such as weddings, engagements, graduations, lead-outs, sporting events, etc.
