Joyce Jamae Josey

 

Ms. Joyce Jamae Josey, age 64, of Hwy. 231, Riddleville, died Thursday, December 4, at Doctors Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 7th at 2 p.m. at the Ammie S. Page Memorial Baptist Church with burial in the Riddleville Cemetery. Rev. Wade Dawson and Rev. Mike Jones will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Frank May, Steve Westbrook, Ben Hitchcock, William G. Josey, Jr., William H. Josey III, and John L. Glover. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Loyalty and Service Sunday School Class. Ms. Josey was a native of Washington County, the daughter of the late Marvin Lawson Josey and the late Susan Drudell Mixon Josey. She resided in Augusta for many years and retired from J.B. Whites as a sales clerk. When moving back to Washington County, she became active in the Washington County Pilot Club, the Washington County Historical Society and the Sandersville Chapter of the D.A.C. Ms. Josey was a member of the Ammie S. Page Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors are her brothers and sisters, William G. and Frances M. Josey, Sr. of Riddleville, Melba Josey and Francis May of Sandersville, Jeanette Josey Brice of Riddleville, Bessie J. and John L. Glover of Augusta; and Windom H. and Karen Josey of Augusta; and nieces and nephews.

The family will be at the William G. Josey, Sr. residence, 10539 Hwy. 231 Riddleville and will receive friends Saturday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the May and Smith Sandersville Chapel .
