Jesse Parks Obituary

GASTONIA - Jesse Lee Parks Jr., 77, of West Second Avenue, died May 27, 2009, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

A native of
Gaston County, he was the son of the late Jessie Lee and Annie Butler Parks.

A funeral service will be held
11 a.m. Saturday at Covenant United Methodist Church.

Burial will be at
Gaston Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from
6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia.

Mr. Parks was a member of
Covenant United Methodist Church and United States Air Force veteran. He retired as a maintenance supervisor after 43 years of service with Firestone Fibers and Textiles.

Survivors include four children, Ronnie Parks and wife, Bobbie Jo of Gastonia, Pamela Parks of Gastonia, James Parks and wife, Kathy of Gastonia, Tammy Messer and husband, Wayne of Gastonia; six grandchildren,Crissy Parks Lee and husband, Dustin, Thomas Parks and wife, Laura, Brandon Messer and wife, Carmella, Jordan Parks, Josey Messer, Meredith Parks; five great grandchildren, Preston Lee, Jake Lee, Hunter Parks, Cooper Parks, Peyton Messer; sister, Edith McGinnis; lifelong friends, Karo, Sam and Evanell; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Josey Parks; and sister, Elizabeth Loudermilk.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Parks, Josey Messer, Dustin Lee, Wayne Messer, Brandon Messer and Jordan Parks
Officiating Clergy is the Rev. Anna Mandelstamm and the Rev. David Mason
