James Otis Josey, Mar. 19, 1933 - Sept. 15, 2013 James Otis Josey of the Three Rivers Community entered into God's rest on Sunday morning, September 15, 2013. Otis is preceded in death by his wife, June Josey; his parents, Cleveland Burea and Bertha Massaleat Josey; his brother, Troy Josey; and his sisters, Bertha Mae Dueitt, Loretta Head, and Ruby Brannon.He leaves behind to cherish his loving memories his children, Lanette (Ronnie) Coleman of Escatawpa; Melinda (Vince) Lovely of Wade; Shelia Workman, Patricia Morrison, Quinn Josey, and Nina Kirkwood of Three Rivers; his siblings, Evelyn Bradley of Lucedale; Harrel (Vandalyn) Josey of Abilene, TX; Gene (Pam) Josey of Sebring, FL; and Lavon Josey of Three Rivers; his grandchildren, Sonya (Ryan) Carter of Ocean Springs; Randy (Shelley) Coleman of Hurley; Melissa (Steve) Hill of Montgomery, AL; Jeremy (Lila) Jenkins of Three Rivers; Jennifer (Jeremiah) Lentz of Sedalia, MO; Courtney O'Bannon of Baltimore, MD; and James Josey of D'Iberville; his great grandchildren, Gavin and Ryleigh Carter; Morgan, Gillian, and Kylan Coleman; Gabrielle and Patrick Hill; and Maddox and Chloe Lentz. He also leaves behind his amazing and wonderful church family of Escatawpa Baptist Church where he was a faithful member.He retired as a welder from Ingalls in 1998 and was Honorably Discharged in 1955 as a Lt. Weapons Infantryman of the United States Army. Otis loved to hunt and fish. He will be forever missed by his family, his church family, and his friends. Visitation for Otis will be held on Wednesday September 18, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Heritage Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held Thursday September 19, 2013, 10:00 am at Escatawpa Baptist Church where his good friend and brother in Christ, Pastor Todd Bowen will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Caswell Springs Cemetery. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
