James Lewis Josey, age 79, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2017.
He was born in
Bonifay, FL on February 16th, 1938 to James Franklin Josey and Agnes Mears Josey
He served in Florida Army National Guard as a young man, and was a member of the Airport Road Church of Christ.
James enjoyed golf, hunting and fishing. He was renowned for his fish frying and smoking barbeque. He was a graduate of
Crestview High School class of 1957 and was active in reunion activities and organization. He was affectionately called Paw Paw, Uncle James, JL and Coach by his grandchildren, extended family and friends.
He worked for the local telephone company (Centel) until retirement and managed offices in Crestview,
Fort Walton Beach and Destin.
He was preceded in death by, an infant brother Edward, his parents, his brother Jerry, his sisters Blondell Dorris, Eva Cadenhead and Rita Strickland.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Melva and two sons.

Denton, Josh and Autumn.
Marty and Laurie, their children Christian and Anna Sophia.
Also, by brothers Harold (Linda) and Ronnie (Darlene) and sisters Flo Jellison (Harold) and Virginia Oatman (Ross).
A time of visitation will be held from
6-8 PM on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 2 PM Wednesday at Airport Road Church of Christ, with Rev. Mark Dillman officiating. Burial will be in Liveoak Memorial Park in Crestview
