Howard Francis Josey

Funeral services for Mr. Howard F. Josey, age 78, will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the Richard N. Stanley Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. M.D. Cabe will officiate.

Mr. Josey was born April 8, 1936 in Riddleville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Noah R. and Eddie Mae Smith Josey and two daughters, Gloria Marcelyn Josey and Karen Alisa Josey. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and was a former guardsman for the Georgia National Guard. He was also a member of the local CB Club and was a farmer. Mr. Josey passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015.

He is survived by his wife, Omie Lee Josey, a son, Howard Deran Josey, a daughter, Janet Lane all of Riddleville, two sisters, Julia Mae Bridges of Bartow and Peggy Thigpen of Milledgeville, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday, March 16, 2015 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Josey, Curtis Josey, Troy Lindsey, Tim Shaw, Todd Cabe and Michael Hattaway.

Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
