DANVILLE VA - Fletcher Lee Josey, 65, of 540 West Main St., died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at his residence.
Born
Dec. 19, 1942, in Danville, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Josey and the late Eleanor Dix Josey.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Josey was employed as a salesman with Mid Atlantic Foods, and was employed with Gate Petroleum. He served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of
Stateline Baptist Church.
He was married to Dianne Saunders Josey.
In addition to his wife, of the residence, Mr. Josey is survived by one son, Kenneth Wayne Josey, and his wife, Janet, of Danville; two daughters, Penny J. Sapounakes and her husband, Nick, of Danville and Pamela H. Waller and husband, William, of Charlottesville; seven grandchildren, Christopher Busby, Jessica Davis, Lisa M. Brent, Robert "R.J." Josey, Nicholas Sapounakes, Billy Compton, and Teresa Duncan; and ten great-grandchildren, Austin Owen, Nathan Busby, Mary Owen, Sara Davis, Ashlyn Davis, Christopher Compton, Tiffany Compton, Morgan Duncan, Kassy Duncan, and Henry Duncan.
A memorial service will be held at
2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, at Norris Funeral Services with the Rev. Billy Hedrick officiating. Military honors will be given by American Legion Dan River Post 1097.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
