Elsie Josey Bullard Himes

Funeral services for Elsie Bullard Himes, 86, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Lemons Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ron Brunson, pastor of Plainview New Covenant Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Himes died at 3 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, in Lupita´s Care Home in Amarillo.

She was born Feb. 24, 1911, in Meridian. She attended schools in Hedley and Lelia Lake and graduated from Lelia Lake High School in 1939. She moved to the Plainview area in 1948 and owned and operated the Panhandle Fruit Market until her retirement.

She attended College Heights Baptist Church and Plainview New Covenant Church.

Her first husband, William Lonnie Bullard, died on March 2, 1962. She married J.W. Himes in 1972.

Survivors include her husband of Albuquerque, N.M.; two daughters, Fredia Addington of Tulsa, Okla., and Betty Goodwin of Plano; one stepdaughter, Leta Himes of Albuquerque; two sisters, Hazel Goode of Brownsville and Gladys Walk of Albuquerque; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Four brothers, Carl, James, Roby and Grady Josey are deceased.
