FLORENCE - Services for Dendy Kyle "D.K." Josey, 86, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Sardis Baptist Church with interment in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery near Bishopville, directed by Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Sardis Baptist Church, 3129 Sardis Hwy., Timmonsville, SC 29161.

Mr. Josey died January 9, 2000 at a Florence hospital. He was born in Lee County, a son of the late Charles Wilson and Jessie Brown Josey. He was a graduate of Clemson College Class of 1938. He was County Agent of Williamsburg County for a number of years and served in the U.S. Army as a major during World War II. He was a farmer and cotton classer with the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and attended Sardis Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Lee Evans Josey; daughter, Alice Lominack of Spartanburg; step son, Wayne (Kathy) Harrington of Georgetown; step daughters, Glenn Dora (William) Long, Jane (Laurie) Smith, Sonya Howard, all of Andrews, Janice (Leon) Love of Florence; sisters, Jessie J. Hill of Timmonsville, Naomi (B.G.) Gammon of Sumter, Abby (H.D.) Harrelson of Chapin, Ruth (Caldwell) Bell of Bishopville; two grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; one great-grandchild
