Bobbie Jean Smith

Ms. Bobbie Jean Smith, 46, of Axson, Ga., passed away Friday, November 19, 2004, at the home of her daughter in Hazlehurst, Ga., following an extended illness.

A native of Clinch County, Ga., Ms. Smith was born December 31, 1957, the daughter of Mitchell (Buddy) and Madeline Braswell Adams. She previously worked at Cady Industries as an inspector and was a member of Indian Mound Baptist Church.

Survivors include: her daughter, Sylvia Josey and husband, Ricky, of Hazlehurst, Ga.; her parents, Mitchell (Buddy) and Madeline Adams of Axson, Ga.; four brothers, Preston Adams of Pearson, Ga., John Adams of Mathews, Ga., Clarence (Bo) Adams of Cogdell, Ga., and Jimmy Adams and wife, Kittie, of Axson, Ga.; five sisters, Madie Rivers and husband, Ricky, of Pearson, Ga., Pamella Garrett and husband, James, Mary Luke and husband, Keith, all of Axson, Ga., Barbara Metts and husband Mike of Mora, Ga., and Bonnie Sue Adams of Cogdell, Ga.; four grandchildren, Justin Josey, Madeline Josey, Zachary Josey and Candace Josey; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for were held at 4 p.m., Sunday, November 21, 2004, at Indian Mound Baptist Church with Rev. Clayton Davis and Rev. Edgar Musgrove officiating. Special musical selections included ???Precious Memories??? and ???Amazing Grace,??? rendered by Candace Thrift, Terry Palmer and Regina Delk, accompanied by Betty Davis at the piano, and ???Go Rest High On That Mountain,??? rendered by Terry Palmer, accompanied by tape. Soft music for the prelude and postlude was provided by Betty Davis, pianist. Interment followed in Indian Mound Cemetery with Madie Rivers singing ???God On The Mountain??? at the gravesite.
