MAIDEN - Clyde Andrew Josey, 75, of Maiden, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, at Valley Nursing Center in Taylorsville. Born Oct. 21, 1934, in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Willie Eli and Mary Ethel Smith. Clyde was a U.S. Marine veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a member of Mt. Anderson Baptist Church in Maiden and served for many years as Sunday school secretary. Mr. Josey had worked at Ethan Allen in Maiden and retired from ER Carpenter in Hickory. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Charles, Austin, Eugene, Walt and Howard Josey. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shelvy Caldwell Josey of the home; son, Joel N. Josey of Maiden; daughter, Lisa Josey Hartness and husband, Jonathan, of Statesville; brother, Billy Hannon of Maiden; two sisters, Martha Porch, Janie Hefner and husband, George, both of Lincolnton; two grandsons, Thomas and Joseph Hartness. The funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Anderson Baptist Church in Maiden, with the Rev. Donald Cline and the Rev. Charles Ingle officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with military honors performed by American Legion Post 16. The family will receive friends today, Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Mt. Anderson Baptist Church in Maiden. Memorials may be made to Mt.
