Maiden- Brenda Morehead Josey, age 72, of Maiden passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Born April 2, 1943 in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Fritz Spurgeon Morehead and the late Margaret Mae Gold Morehead. Brenda had a passion for the sunshine, music, and above all, her family. She was a member of Mt. Ruhama Baptist Church in Maiden. She served in various leadership and teaching roles including Associational Director of Women's Missions for South Fork Association, WMU Director, Sunday School teacher, contract trainer, after-school Director, and Bible Study leader. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Bob, Pete, Bill, Rub, and Tom Morehead; and a sister, Mae Kelly.

She is survived by: Husband of 53 years: Roger Josey of the home,2 Daughters: Lora Josey and her partner Rebecca Baker of Richmond, VA, Pamela Pope and husband John of Maiden
Brother: Phil Morehead of Kings Mountain
2 Sisters: Phyllis Carroll of Bessemer City, Lena Josey of Maiden

The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Ruhama Baptist Church in Maiden with Rev.

Michael Staton, Rev. Charles Ingle, Rev. Buddy Morehead, and Rev. Barry Morehead officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:45-2:45 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
