Bessy Mason Josey,
77, of Troutman, passed away Saturday, November
10, 2018
at her daughter’s residence. She was born in Love Valley on December
25, 1940
to the late Bub Wiley Mason and Ida Branton Mason.
Bessy was a graduate
of Central High School and was married on June
24, 1964
to James Thomas Josey who preceded her in death on May
13, 2018.
They shared over 53 years of marriage before his passing. She was retired from
Hunt Manufacturing where she worked as a traffic manager and was a member of New Bethany Baptist Church.
Along with her
parents and husband, James, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby
and Bryant Mason, and two sisters, Betty Shook and Barbara Stone.
Left to cherish her
memory are two daughters, Anita Josey Williams (Donald) and Kelly E. Josey,
both of Troutman; two step-sons, Jimmy Francis (Kelly) of Holiday, FL and Jeff
Francis (Shelly) of Elizabeth City, NC. She is
also survived by six grandchildren, Ashton Williams, James Matthew Williams
(Abigail), Michael Sanders and Avery Mason Josey, all of Troutman, Morgan and
Jake Francis of Holiday, FL. She is further survived by two
great-grandchildren, Ryan and Riley Williams of Troutman, two brothers, Billy
and Barry Mason; and one sister, Brenda Stone.
Funeral services
will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday,
November 13, 2018 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug
Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will
visit with friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 7:30
pm
at Nicholson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made to Gordon Hospice House or Alzheimer’s Association.
