He worked as a Merchant Marine Seaman from an early age until retirement. Bernard relocated and married his wife Helen Josey on Galveston Island. He enjoyed Watching Construction, Bike Riding and Walking his Dog (Angel) daily.

He is preceded in death by his parents also; 2 brothers: Alphponsus Josey and William Josey;? 3 sisters: Magdalene, Mary, and Charlotte.?
