Amy Grace Josey Varco, age 87 of Owosso, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel in Owosso. Pastor John Walworth will be officiating with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.

Amy was born August 14, 1927 in Ahmeek, Michigan a daughter of John and Wilhelmina "Minnie" (Effinger) Josey. She married Calvin Varco in Owosso on September 5, 1947 and together raised 3 children.

Mrs. Varco was a member of the Odd Fellows and Rebecca's in Owosso and was the "Peanut Brittle Lady" for Jennings-Lyons Chapel for many years.

She is survived by her children: Gary (Linda ) Varco of Vernon, Dennis (Paula) Varco of Owosso, Marcia (Bruce) Owen of Swartz Creek; grandchildren: Julie (Mike) Robbins, Robert Varco, Jennifer (Kevin) Oja, Ashley and Matthew Varco, Brent (Angela) Owen, Angela (Edward) Donathan and great grandson: Jaxon Wieske. She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin on Sept. 20, 2005; parents; sister; Marion Williams; brothers: Allen Josey and Fred Josey. A special thank you to Amy's care giver Denise Vsetual.
