Alvin "Wayne" Josey, 75, of Salisbury, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at his home, surrounded his family. He was born on September 7, 1941 to Bernice Safrit Josey and the late Martin Josey in Cabarrus County, NC. Wayne was a member of the Rockwell AMVETS. He enjoyed fishing, going to the beach and camping; and loved spending time with his family. Wayne worked for Sunshine Mobile Homes, Sides Construction, Cannon Mills, Kern Roll & Rubber and most recently Voight Paper.

Wayne is survived by his children; Son, Scott Josey and wife Jackie of Woodleaf; Daughter, Sandra Bruce and husband Rick of Salisbury; Five Granddaughters, Brandy Stoner, Amanda Kessenich and husband Matt, Nikki Josey, Emma Josey, and Ava Josey; Grandson, Ryan Josey; Great-grandson, Christian Stoner; Great-granddaughter, Megan Stoner; and Sister, Brenda Kirby of Salisbury, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Overcash Josey; Brother, Steve Josey, and Sister, Linda File. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2017, 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell, NC, with Rev. Carlin Ours, Pastor of Organ Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will take place in the West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials in memory of Wayne may be made to Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care 720 Grove Street Salisbury NC 28144..
