Allen Lacy Josey

 

Sylvester May 14, 1950.  Allen Lacy Josey, 50, prominent Sylvester merchant, died instantly of a heart attack about 1:30 p.m. Sunday at his home here.
Funeral services have been set for 4 p.m. Monday at the Sylvester Baptist Church with the pastor, Rev. C. R. Blake officiating, assisted by the Rev. T. M. Harrel of Big Spring, the Rev. W. C. Dever of Clyde and the Rev. W. D. Green of Hermleigh.
McCombs Funeral Service of Rotan will direct burial in the
Sylvester Cemetery.
A.L. Josey was born
January 1, 1891 in Rising Star where he was reared until moving to Sylvester in 1907. He entered the grocery business in 1919 in partnership with the late Henry Scott. Their partnership was dissolved in 1940.
Survivors include the widow, Opal Josey; two sons, J.D. Josey and Cecil Josey both of Sylvester; three daughters, Ruth Josey of Sylvester, Mrs. Fred Kiser of Escondida, California and Mrs. Joe Kelsey of Hamlin; and five grandchildren
